LEARN ARABIC WITH SHORT STORIES - JUHA AND THE GLUTON MAN
السلام عليكم جميعًا May Allah’s peace be upon all of you Welcome to Madinah Arabic voice podcast In today’s podcast, you’re going to listen to a Modern Standard Arabic short story Our today’s story is entitled “Guha and glutton man”. It deals with the famous folkloric Egyptian funny character named “Guha” narrated in MSA by Ahmed Godamy and translated and narrated in English by Om Ahmad. Now to the story جحا والرجل الأكول today’s story is entitled Goha and the glutton Man في يوم من الأيام One day طرق رجل بدين جدا باب جحا A very fat man knocked Goha`s door فتح جحا الباب Goha opened the door فوجد أمامه رجلا شديد البدانة And found a very obese man فسأله He asked him من أنت؟ Who are you وماذا تريد؟ And what do you want قال الرجل: The man said أنا قادم من بلدة بعيدة I came from a far country وتوقفت هنا لأستريح من عناء السفر And stopped here to take rest from travelling bother رحب جحا بالرجل Goha welcomed the man وأدخله داره And took him home ولما حان وقت الغداء At lunch time استأذنه جحا حتى يعد له الطعام Goha asked permission to make the food for him أحضر جحا الخبز أولا Goha brought the bread first ووضعه فوق المائدة And put it on the dining table وذهب ليحضر الطعام Then he went to bring the food وإذا بالضيف البدين The obese visitor يلتهم الخبز كله Devoured all the bread عاد جحا يحمل أطباقا مملوءة بالخضر المطهي Goha came back with dishes full of cooked vegetables ولكنه نظر إلى المائدة But when he looked to the table فلم يجد الخبز He didn’t find the bread عاد جحا ليأتي بخبز آخر Goha went to bring another bread وإذا بالضيف يلتهم كل ما في الأطباق من طعام Soon, the visitor devoured all the food in the dishes ولم يترك بها شيئا And he left nothing أحضر جحا الخبز ونظر إلى الأطباق Goha brought the bread and he looked to the dishes فلم يجد بها شيئا But he found nothing أخذ جحا الأطباق الفارغة ليملأها طعامًا وترك الخبز على المائدة Goha took the empty dishes to fill it with food and he left the bread on the table وعاد فلم يجد أثرًا للخبز When he came back he didn’t find the bread وهكذا استمر الحال عدة مرات And this continued to happen many times حتى نفد الطعام والخبز في البيت The food and the bread in the house finished سأل جحا الضيف قائلا Goha asked the visitor إلى أين تقصد يا سيدي في رحلتك هذه؟ Oh sir! What`s your destination? أجاب الضيف The visitor answered أني أعاني من ضعف في قابليتي للطعام I`m suffering from weak appetite for food وقد سمعت عن طبيب ماهر في هذه المدينة And I heard about a clever doctor in this city وسأذهب إليه ليعالجني من هذا المرض اللعين And I`m going to him to recover from this damn illness حتى يفتح شهيتي للطعام So, I have good appetite for food قال جحا Goha said يا لك من مسكين You are really poor حقًّا إن لونك شاحب وبدنك هزيل Indeed you are pale and thin ولابد من العلاج The medicine is a must قال الضيف The visitor said وبعد ذلك سأعود إن شاء الله وامكث هنا عندك شهرًا After that I will come back and stay a month with you here لأستفيد من هواء بلدتكم So I benefit the air in your town قال جحا Goha said أني آسف جدًّا I`m so sorry لأني ذاهب غدًا إلى إحدى القرى I`m going tomorrow to another town وسأمكث فيها مدة طويلة And I will stay there for a long time ولا أظن أننا سنتقابل بعد ذلك I don’t think that we will meet again فصحبتك السلامة Good bye We hope this podcast was useful and enjoyable.
